Deemed by Nashville Medical News as one of 2011’s Women to Watch Joann, with over 30 years experience in clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, and clinical care for high-profile Southeast region medical hospitals, accepted the position of interim CEO at the National Park Medical Center in Arkansas just weeks before the Pandemic of 2020. Her keen leadership abilities along with her in-depth understanding of the medical community allowed her to swiftly and calmly navigate the hospital, its staff, and patients through those historic months.
Though offered an opportunity to remain at the facility, Mrs. Ettien returned to Nashville to partner with her husband, Dr. James Ettien, in establishing a consulting firm that would provide the legal community with the expertise required for cases involving the medical field.
Having earned her Masters in Health Care Administration, she also holds her ACHE membership and a current licensed Registered Nurse. She served as Lifepoint Healthcare Interim Executive CEO (2019-2020. She also served as Administrator/COO from 2006-2019 to both Centennial Women’s and Children’s hospital and was the driving force behind the addition of the Pediatric Program of the TriStar Children’s Hospital in 2011. Ms. Ettien currently resides on the board of Pinson Hospital Hospitality House, and was a previous board member of March of Dimes, Ronald McDonald House Charities Nashville, and YWCA Nashville.
Joann and her husband, while having spent many years SCUBA diving the many reefs of the globe, can now be found pursuing her passion of golf and enjoying their two grown daughters and two sons, along with their three grandchildren. Joann and her husband, Jim, reside in Nashville, TN.
